Emergency Assistance Fund Overview


Created in 1929 at the beginning of the Depression, The Washington State Chapter Welfare Fund was founded.

The purpose of this fund is to give temporary financial  assistance to members and non-members who have unexpected short-term financial needs.

The Fund was established in 1929, at the beginning of the Great Depression, as the Washington State Welfare Fund. In 1981, the name was changed to the Emergency Assistance Fund to better reflect its purpose and mission.
